A street team from HipHopShopNL is heading to the Pedestrian Mall this Saturday to provide essential products to people in need.
Team members will be giving out free food and hygiene products, such as toothbrushes and deodorant, to vulnerable populations in the downtown area.
Project lead Jacob Pardy says they’re hoping to disperse about eight two-person teams across the area.
They have lots of supplies to give away, says Pardy, thanks to partnerships with Sobeys, Ocean Grown Hydroponics, and Indoor Garden Centre.
He says everyone needs a break and a helping hand every now and again. He says it feels good to give back to the community.
The teams will take to the streets in downtown St. John’s on Saturday, July 15, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
