RNC responded to two separate assault incidents in the capital city in a matter of minutes last night.

At around 10:25 p.m., police received a call of an assault in the centre city of St. John’s. A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault, as well as multiple breaches of court orders.

Twenty minutes later, officers responded to a disturbance, also in the centre city, where they charged a 61-year-old man with assault.

Both men were sent to the lockup to appear in court this morning.
