The Town of Holyrood has declared a water ban effective immediately.

Officials say it’s due to high temperatures and a lack of rain.

There are now restrictions on watering lawns and vegetables, washing vehicles, as well as the use of swimming pools, splash pads and other water toys.

The town says it expects the ban to last for a short period of time.

But they say that will depend on residents adhering to the restrictions on water usage.
