A Cape Broyle man is facing a fine for firing his gun near a playground.
Vincent Hawkins was charged by wildlife officers after discharging a gun within one kilometer of a playground to kill a moose of the wrong sex.
Hawkins was fined $2,000 and is prohibited from applying for a big game license for five years.
More fines were handed out to other people in connection with the fisheries and wildlife department’s investigations into illegal hunting and fishing.
