The College of the North Atlantic, with funding from the provincial and federal governments, is working on advancing technology in the mining industry.
A total of $4.5 million has been pledged to CNA to develop advanced drill core imaging technology.
The money will go towards the development of a state-of-the-art mobile Hyperspectral Scanning Unit, which is at the Iron Ore Company of Canada in Labrador City conducting its first drill scans.
The new technology will make drill core logging more accurate and improve exploration processes.
Had a great opportunity to check out some awesome new tech for the mining industry the CNA has been researching and developing right here in the province and is currently out at IOC here in #Labrador pic.twitter.com/hUg9wCZw79
