Government is going to provide walk-in counter service at Motor Vehicle registration offices after all — but only on a limited basis.
Last week, Minister Sarah Stoodley said their plan called for leaving vehicle registration services as an appointments and online model but many people are having trouble getting through, and when they do they are sometimes given an appointment weeks down the road.
Starting tomorrow, Motor Registration will provide walk-in counter service to seniors and those who require assistance every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Those availing of the service are asked to cancel any existing appointments.
For the remainder of the week, services will continue to be available by appointment.
The department encourages people to complete transactions online, and to use government drop boxes.
