Salmonier Nature Park has announced the death of one of its great horned owls, which has called the park it’s home for almost 25 years.
The owl was discovered with a broken wing in Manuels in late August, 1996. She was brought to the nature park where she has remained ever since.
Her enclosure mate, another great horned owl, was also found with a broken wing, so neither bird could be released to the wild.
The Department of Fisheries, Forestry, and Agriculture says she will be missed by her companion, park staff and visitors.
