With the loosening of pandemic restrictions, Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are celebrating the return of a prominent piece of the province’s culture- dancing.
Lovers of the Irish jig and the Newfie Stomp had not been allowed to dance in pubs for 501 days before Sunday, but with the province’s move to Phase Two of the reopening plan, people are once again permitted to cut a rug.
At O’Reilly’s Pub on George Street, pub-goers counted down the moments to midnight, before getting their groove on.
