The Public Health Agency of Canada is investigating an outbreak of Hepatitis A. Frozen mangoes have been identified as the likely source of the outbreak.
No known cases have been linked to Newfoundland and Labrador. However, the frozen mangoes have been distributed to several provinces and territories sold under various brands. Those brands include Natures Touch, Compliments, Irresistibles, and President’s Choice.

Public Health is advising the public not to eat and throw out the recalled product.
Those who order food and drink containing frozen mangoes at a restaurant are being advised to ask staff to ensure the mangoes are not a part of the recall.
Anyone who believes they have consumed the recalled product and have not been vaccinated against Hepatitis A are asked to contact Public Health to arrange for a vaccination, as vaccination against Hepatitis A can prevent symptoms 14 days after possible exposure.
