More information is expected to be released today following an incident that caused a few anxious moments in the community of Terra Nova late last night.
RCMP issued an advisory shortly after 11:00 last night advising of an active shooter in the area and asking people to shelter in place.
A short time later RCMP confirmed that 30-year-old Kyle Rideout had been taken into custody without incident.
Police say that they had requested an Alert Ready be issued, but Rideout was taken into custody before the alert could be sent out.
