A woman is in custody following the death of a man after an incident in the capital city’s downtown Thursday evening.
Police were called to the scene of an altercation in the area of Carter’s Hill around 6:30 p.m.
Police located a man, with serious injuries, lying on the ground. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene a short time later.
RNC are treating the death as a homicide and are working with the Chief Medical Examiner’s Officer on the cause of death.
The man and woman were known to each other.
The area around Carters Hill, Cookstown Road, and Saunders Place just off Cabot Street was cordoned off for an extended period while police conducted their investigation.
