Premier Andrew Furey is calling his first face-to-face meeting with Quebec Premier Francois Legault a “great opportunity” for the two leaders to get to know each other and discuss opportunities of mutual interest.
Natural Resources Minister Andrew Parsons was also on hand for the meeting in Montreal on Monday morning.
Furey describes the meeting as introductory, but says they did touch on a number of issues including economic opportunity for the north, green energy transition, reconciliation, mining opportunities and COVID-19.
As for rate mitigation and Muskrat Falls, Furey says Legault expressed support for the agreement with the federal agreement.
