Police arrested and charged a man in the capital city this weekend who not only was reportedly wielding two bladed weapons but allegedly assaulted an officer before being taken into custody.
The RNC were tipped off shortly after midnight on Sunday that a man had attacked someone with a weapon, while a second report claimed damage had been done to someone’s property.
According to the RNC, officers headed to the area of Canada Drive where they located a suspect wielding a machete-style blade in one hand and a smaller knife in the other. He initially refused to drop the weapons but was eventually taken into custody.
The 38-year-old was charged with a number of weapons offences, public mischief, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest. He was held to appear in provincial court.
