The upcoming winter looks like it’s going to be relatively normal across the province as far as temperatures are concerned, but the amount of precipitation is expected to increase slightly.
Jack Burnett, Managing Editor of the Old Farmer’s Almanac, says there won’t be too much out of the ordinary this winter.
The coldest months are expected to be January and February. However, Burnett explains the precipitation is expected to start much sooner.
He says snow and wet snow will be spread-out more. The heaviest times will be early to mid-December, most of January, and the middle of March.
Burnett states that the Almanac is about 80 per cent accurate, noting that last year’s predictions were 78.5 per cent correct.
