A major music festival in St. John’s is implementing a mandatory mask policy on advice from Public Health.
Until now, Iceberg Alley at Quidi Vidi encouraged but did not mandate masks. However, just days away from opening night, organizers will require attendees to wear face coverings at all times except when a person is actively eating or drinking.
The move comes following several nights of crowded concerts at the George Street Festival where many people did not have masks. The George Street Association made face coverings mandatory at last night’s final show.
With the direction of public health officials, it has been decided that masks will be mandatory for all attendees & participants for this year’s event.
