Applications are now open for the province’s Oil to Electric Rebate Program.
The $1-million program provides a rebate of up to $2,500 for homeowners to transition from oil to electric heating.
A homeowner must have consumed at least 1,000 litres of oil in the past 12 months and they must remove the existing tank from the property.
Applicants must be a resident of the province and registered as a titleholder of a dwelling. The property must be connected to either the island or Labrador’s interconnected electrical grid and must be used year-round.
Applications are available on NL Hydro’s website.
