The deadline for applications for the 2021-2022 Age-Friendly Newfoundland and Labrador Communities Program has been extended.
The window is now open until November 19 so municipalities can have adequate time to prepare their application following the municipal election.
The program aims to help municipalities, service districts. and Indigenous governments make their communities more age-friendly.
Up to $10,000 is available for incorporated municipalities and Indigenous governments to conduct an assessment or implement aspects of a previous Age-Friendly Action Plan. Unincorporated communities that take a regional approach can receive up to $15,000.
A webinar hosted by government for municipal officials is available on October 14.
