The RCMP has ticketed a parent and their 15-year-old child following a collision between two ATVs on a trail near Gander just over a week ago.
The head-on collision involving two side-by-side ATVs occurred on Saturday, September 11th.
One of the ATVs – which was being operated by a teenager – was reported speeding when it lost control and collided with the other machine.
Two women in the other ATV required medical attention for injuries that were described as serious, but not life-threatening.
A 15-year-old was ticketed for operating an ATV without due care and attention, while their parent was ticketed for allowing a person under the age of 16 to operate a full-size ATV.
