So far, less than 50 per cent of eligible voters in Newfoundland and Labrador have exercised their franchise, but there are still a handful of polls to come, plus mail-in ballots.
Turnout is similar in each riding at roughly between 46 and 49 per cent.
The Liberals took 47.1 per cent of the popular vote in NL, compared with 33.2 for the Conservatives, 17.2 NDP and 2.5 for the PPC, which translated into 5,000 votes.
It’s unclear as to what type of effect their participation had on the election as most of their votes probably would have gone to the Conservatives.
200,928 of the 414,305 (48.5%) registered electors cast ballots.
The number does not include voters who registered on Election Day.
