The province has confirmed two new deaths related to COVID-19 with 41 new cases of the virus reported in the province today.
One of the two deaths is a man over the age of 70 in the Central Region while the other is a woman over the age of 70 in the Eastern Health region.
That brings to ten the total number of deaths in this province linked to COVID-19. There are a total of seven people in hospital, four of whom are in critical care.
There are ten new cases in the Eastern Health region, including three under the age of 20. Six of those cases are contacts of previously known cases, two are related to travel in Canada and one is related to international travel.
Meanwhile, there are 31 new cases being reported in the Central Health region. One is related to travel in Canada and the others are under investigation.
There are three separate clusters in the Central Health region. Eighty-seven cases are linked to the Baie Verte cluster, 57 are linked to the Twillingate-New World Island cluster and 43 are linked to the Bishop’s Falls-Botwood cluster.
Potential Exposure Sites
Public Health has issued an advisory about potential COVID exposure sites, all in the Central region.
They include Tai Sun Restaurant in Grand Falls-Windsor on Sunday, September 19th from 1:30 to 2:30, McDonald’s on Main Street in Lewisporte on Wednesday, September 22nd from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. and Lily’s Landing in Gander on Saturday, September 25th from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
