A fundraising effort has been launched for a family who lost everything in a house fire in the capital city on Monday.
Fire consumed Nolan Shiner and Esther Tremblett’s home on Groves Road yesterday afternoon.
A Go Fund Me account has been created to help the couple put a roof back over their heads and replace what has been lost.
The couple’s niece, Ashley Saunders says her Uncle Nolan, who has been using a wheelchair since the age of 19, was in the basement lighting the furnace when he heard the fire alarm sounding upstairs.
Nolan had installed an elevator to access the basement and nearly became trapped on his way up to the main level when the power was lost.
Ashley says he managed to get out of the house, along with his five dogs, while the house filled with smoke and flame.
The couple did not have home insurance due to the age of the structure.
