There was an armed robbery in the east end of St. John’s last night and police have a man in custody.
RNC officers and K-9 rushed to the Royal Canadian Legion on the Boulevard at about 8:30 p.m. They arrested a 57-year-old man nearby on charges of armed robbery and assault with a weapon. They have not yet provided any detail on injuries or the type of weapon.
The suspect will appear in court this morning.
