Premier Andrew Furey says elected officials have an opportunity to reimagine health care in the province and make changes to benefit all residents.
The Premier was responding to continued questions in the House of Assembly today about the state of health care in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Opposition Leader David Brazil questioned the premier on an opinion piece in the Telegram from a St. John’s man, who between he and his wife, made 500 calls to get through to a family doctor who they learned had just opened practice.
Brazil asked the premier to imagine how many thousands of people are facing a similar situation.
Furey acknowledged there is a problem with family medicine in the province, but offered a challenge to all elected members to “have the courage and imagination to come with solutions.”
