The NLVaxPass has come into effect, but there is still some confusion surrounding the procedure.
With the vaccine passport now live, many are wondering how individual businesses will be going about checking vaccination status, especially in larger centers such as malls.
The Avalon Mall has implemented the passport for any dine-in areas, such as the food court or Five Guys.
The mall is leaving it up to the individual businesses in the food court to scan the QR codes after the customer has indicated they are dining-in.
However, the Village Shopping Centre is doing things a little differently, by having a dedicated official check the status of anyone approaching the now roped-off seating area after receiving their food.
Both malls are allowing people without the VaxPass to take-out any food.
Other businesses, such as clothing and electronics stores, do not require proof of vaccination.
Restaurants are following the same formula as the Avalon Mall, with the cashier checking the status of those wishing to dine-in, but many are unclear on the official procedure for patios.
They are playing it safe, treating the patios as an extension of the indoor area.
