A motivational speaker who has travelled the world with his inspirational story is in Grand Falls-Windsor awaiting medical testing after suffering chest pain not long after making a presentation to local school children.
Chris Koch of Alberta was born without arms or legs, but never saw that as a barrier. He uses a skateboard to get around and in recent weeks has been touring Newfoundland communities as a motivational speaker.
In Springdale on Tuesday he started to feel tightness in his chest, and realised that the symptoms he was experiencing were similar to those of a heart attack. He was taken to the clinic in Springdale and then on to hospital in Grand Falls-Windsor where it was determined that he did suffer a “a cardiac event or minor heart attack.”
He’s now awaiting further testing in St. John’s next week.
Koch visited the VOCM Studios back in 2018.
