The Newfoundland Growlers made a statement in their home debut at CBS Arena, winning four to one over the Adirondack Thunder.
After a ceremonial puck drop by CBS Mayor Darrin Bent and Growlers Owner Dean MacDonald, the game got underway.

Triston Pomerleau opened the scoring on a tight angle shot with only 20 seconds left in the first frame.
The Growlers would seal the deal in the second, netting two to take the lead and remain a perfect 5-0-0 on the season.
VOCM Morning Show co-host Ben Murphy and Kelly-Anne Roberts made their broadcast booth debut, appearing alongside play-by-play announcer Chris Ballard.
