All schools on the Burin Peninsula can now operate under “low risk” protocols following advice from Public Health.
The Newfoundland English School Districts says K-12 students will still be required to wear masks at all times on the school bus and in the school environment.
Cohorting remains in effect for K-6. Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald is recommending K-6 students stay within their cohorts, to whatever degree possible, throughout the school day.
Sacred Heart Academy in Marystown, which had been moved to online instruction, will be returning to in-class instruction on Tuesday November 16, so long as the situation does not change.
Monday will be a transition day for school staff.
Once open, Sacred Heart will operate under “high risk” protocols.
