The City of St. John’s is asking for patience as it works the bugs out of a new app for GoBus.
The new system changed scheduling and times that people are picked up, causing some to miss their rides.
Councillor Ron Ellsworth, one of the architects of the original system, says they’re working on resolving those issues, as well as long waits on the phone.
He says people who use the app are calling GoBus to confirm their ride, due to lack of initial faith in the system. But Ellsworth says that’s tying up the line for those who can only book by phone.
Ellsworth admits communication and training around the app could’ve been better, adding some fixes will happen as early as today.
He urged users with any questions about the app to call: 570-2060.
The GoBus para-transit system serves about 1,600 users in St. John’s and Mount Pearl.
