Earlier this week, RCMP Headquarters was brightened with the launch of the RCMP NL 2021 Make-A-Wish Wish Tree campaign.
Chief Superintendent Deanna Hill, Acting Commanding Officer of RCMP NL, flipped the switch to light up the 24-foot Christmas tree, officially launching the annual campaign.
Initiated 35 years ago, the campaign has raised over $450,000 to grant wishes to children in the province diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses, and severe genetic and neurological conditions.
Chief Superintendent Hill says the goal this year is for the money raised to push the campaign over the half-million dollar mark, while thanking officers and the community for their continued dedication to the cause.
