The Port of Argentia is applauding Placentia area residents for the outpouring of support provided to truckers and other essential workers waiting in the ferry line-up at Argentia.

CEO Scott Penney is hinting at what he calls “an exciting announcement” coming from the Port to acknowledge the overwhelming support provided by local residents.

Penney says the Port is proud of the action taken by residents and local businesses to provide support and food donations to the hundreds of truckers who passed through Argentia over the last week or so.

Ferry traffic was transferred to Argentia last week following torrential rains that caused extensive washouts on the southwest coast.
