Memorial University is holding the second annual #ComMUNityOfGiving charity drive today at the front entrance of the Arts and Administration building on the St. John’s Campus.
President Vianne Timmons, along with other senior leaders, will be accepting new, unwrapped toys in support of the Campus Enforcement and Patrol’s Toys for Tots initiative.
Non-perishable food items will be accepted on behalf of the Community Food Sharing Association.
Monetary donations are also accepted, being split between the Campus Food Bank and the Student Emergency Fund.
Last year, the #ComMUNityOfGiving event raised $2,700 in cash donations, along with an estimated 3,000 pounds of food, and enough toys to fill two Campus Enforcement and Patrol vehicles.
The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
