There’s some heavy weather on the way for the entire island and parts of Labrador with most areas subject to at least one warning.
Burgeo and Ramea on the southwest coast could see a lot of rain, possibly up to 90 mm. It’s also going to be windy with strong south westerlies in the 100 km/h range—higher in the Wreckhouse. Justin Boudreau, meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, says this system will resemble the one we experienced on Friday.
The entire island, including metro, is under a wind warning tomorrow with gusts to 100 km/h.
Marine Atlantic cancelled its morning crossings and is concerned about tonight’s as well.
There’s a storm surge warning out for Port Saunders and The Straits with maximum wave heights of 5 to 7 metres from Port aux Choix to Deadman’s Cove.
In Labrador, the issue is snow with 15 cm forecast for many areas including Labrador City and Wabush, something most in the area will welcome.
