Today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
The day coincides with the anniversary of the École Polytechnique massacre in Montreal in 1989 in which 14 women were murdered.
A candlelight walk is being held in support of those who have experienced gender-based violence, and for those who have been lost, tonight in Carbonear. The walk is taking place at the boardwalk beginning at 6 p.m.
