For the first time in its 200-year history, the Royal St. John’s Regatta Committee has two women in its top positions at the same time.
Former Vice President/Captain of the Course Noelle Thomas-Kennell has been elected as President, a role that hasn’t been held by a woman since Gail Malone finished a two-year term in 2005.
Ashley Peach has been elected as the Vice-President and Captain of the Course, becoming the fifth woman to hold the role. Peach is a longtime volunteer, championship rower, and former coxswain/coach.
The 204th rowing of the Royal St. John’s Regatta will take place this summer.
