The Newfoundland and Labrador Snowmobile Federation is getting $990,000 from the federal and provincial governments for new and improved trail maintenance.
The money will enable the federation to modernize its fleet with three new groomers and 20 new drags. They will also install new signage throughout the trail system.
General manager Matthew Swain says the new equipment will allow them to groom the trails more reliably and efficiently.
ACOA and the Government of NL are contributing a combined $990,000, while the Snowmobile Federation will pay the remaining costs, for a total of $1.5 million.
