There’s some heavy weather rolling in with special weather statements out for the entire province – something you don’t see very often.
It’s a deep and large low pressure system which will blow hard and dump rain and snow.
Winds begin to pick up Saturday afternoon in most areas and while most of the island will be contending with rain, the most northern section will see the white stuff.
Veronica Sullivan, a meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, says some of those statements will likely become warnings.
It will dump snow on the northern Peninsula starting Saturday night and continuing until Sunday morning when it turns to rain.
Labrador is in for a pounding, especially areas north of Cartwright.
Eastern areas, including metro, are in for about 20mm of rain but the south coast could see 80mm.
