The federal government has unveiled the official itinerary for the Royal Tour next month.
The visit by Charles, the Prince of Wales and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall will begin in St. John’s on May 17.
The Royal Couple will kick off their visit to Canada with an official welcome ceremony in the presence of Indigenous leaders at Confederation Building.
The visit will include a stop at Government House followed by a discussion on Canada’s wool industry and a showcase of Newfoundland and Labrador artistry.
The stop will include the inauguration of the new Commonwealth Walkway—a Platinum Jubilee commemorative project—on the grounds of Government House.
The Royal Couple will wrap up their Newfoundland stop with a visit to Quidi Vidi Village.
The Royal Tour will continue on May 18 with a visit to Ottawa and move on to Yellowknife and Dettah Northwest Territories on May 19.
Charles and Camilla last paid a visit to the St. John’s region in 2009.
