Stella’s Circle is gearing up for the 10th annual Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women, scheduled to take place in a little over a month.

The annual event is a five or 10-kilometre walk or run in support of women’s mental health programs.

Locally, Stella’s Circle has been selected as a partner for the province, with funds raised going towards the Just Us Women’s Centre and the Naomi Centre Shelter for Women Under 30.

CEO Laura Winters says conversations around mental health don’t often have a gender lens, and women facing addiction, trauma, homelessness and the justice system can face stigma and marginalization that can even further effect their mental health.

She says the support they provide can help women address those challenges.

Registration for the Run for Women is open to teams and individuals, with five and 10k distances available. A family-friendly 1k event is also an option.
