Big Brothers Big Sisters Eastern NL is heading back to the bowling alley for the annual Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser for the first time in three years.
The popular event has been running for around 40 years in the province and is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser.
Executive Director Kelly Leach says the demand for Big Brothers Big Sisters programming is extremely high.
Leach says the demand for families elevated 102 per cent over the past year. They have more than 150 kids waiting to be enrolled, even before being waitlisted. She says they’ve never seen numbers like this before.
The event goes Thursday for corporate teams and Sunday for community teams at Plazabowl.
