A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly fleeing from police twice on Sunday in Carbonear.
RCMP first attempted to stop the vehicle shortly after 2 a.m., but the driver fled. The vehicle was spotted a short time later by another officer, and once again the driver did not stop.
The car was found empty a short time later at an unoccupied home on Pike’s Lane.
Police arrested the suspect, Austin Keels, later that morning at a home on Mahaney’s Lane in Carbonear.
Keels appeared in court to answer to a number of charges, including flight from police, dangerous driving, causing a disturbance, and breaching court orders.
