A St. John’s city councillor and his daughter are teaming up for Shave for the Brave in a couple of weeks.
Ward 3 Councillor Jamie Korab says he participated in a Young Adult Cancer Canada fundraiser a few years ago and was recently approached to participate in this year’s event.
When he asked his family about the idea, Korab says his eight-year-old daughter, Kendra, instantly said she wanted to do it with him.
He says that his daughter really wants to fundraise for the organization, and she wants to donate her hair too. During Tuesday’s city council meeting, Korab said he was starting to get emotional talking about his daughter wanting to do the shave. The father-daughter duo will be shaving their heads on June 10.
I was asked to do Shave for the Brave. When I told the family, Kendra instantly said she would do it with me. So…. On June 10th, Kendra and I will both shave our heads. K's exited to donate her hair and fundraise money for @yacancercanada https://t.co/0hS6CZh9uD pic.twitter.com/ZsjSLT8HHg
