The town of Bay Roberts is disappointed with a lack of funding for the Conception Bay Highway in this year’s Provincial Roads Plan.
Mayor Walter Yetman says the provincially-owned road running through Bay Roberts is in deplorable condition and poses a “significant risk” to public safety.
He is expressing frustration and anger after applying for work on the town’s main commercial thoroughfare for the last five years to no fruition.
The town has drafted a letter to the Premier requesting that Route 70 be included in the provincial roads plan, and they’re encouraging residents and drivers to contact Minister Elvis Loveless and MHA Pam Parsons to express their concerns.
