The Newfoundland Growlers’ Kelly Cup playoffs run has come to an end following a dramatic game five Saturday night.
The Growlers were fighting from behind all game after three early goals from Florida. However, the team fought back and after a last-minute flurry tied things up at 5-5, sending the game into overtime.
It wasn’t meant to be, however, as Florida scored after about a minute in OT, sealing the deal on a 4-1 series victory.
In a thank you note to fans on social media after the game the Growlers called their run “a truly unprecedented season.”
