It’s been years in the making, but the Grand Falls-Windsor Heritage Society is finally celebrating the grand opening of its new facility at the old training centre on Mill Road.
The opening began at 10:30, starting with a parade from the Town Hall to the old paper mill site.
The Heritage Society has a collection of over 30,000 photographs and 3000 documents with a large range of books, magazines, newsletters and newspapers dating back to before the 1980s.
The facility includes a genealogy centre for those tracing their family history in the area.
The Heritage Society took possession of the old Abitibi training centre and began work on transforming the facility back in 2019.
