A National Inuit Health Survey has officially been launched in Nain.
The Qanuippitaa? National Inuit Health Survey is the first survey of its kind, developed by Inuit, for Inuit in partnership with four Inuit regions, including the Nunatsiavut Government.
It is a permanent health research program, which will provide high-quality data that identifies strengths and gaps in areas of Inuit health, wellness and lifestyle.
Inuit ownership of the data collected will also allow for informed programming and policy on the community, regional, provincial and national levels.
Data collection is set to begin in Nunatsiavut this October and the results will be available by 2023-24.
The title of the survey means “How are we?” in the Nunavik Inuktitut dialect.
