A young woman is facing charges after skipping out on cab fare yesterday afternoon.
Shortly after 3 p.m., police on patrol in the Kenmount Road area saw a woman exit a taxi and run on foot, before the cab driver flagged police down and informed them the woman had failed to pay her fare.
The officer chased the woman into a local business, where a small scuffle broke out.
The 19-year-old woman is facing charges of assaulting a police officer, public mischief, obstruction, resisting arrest, and breach of a release and probation order.
She was held for court this morning.
