A horrific crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Hodgewater Line claimed the lives of three people last night.
Around 11 p.m., Whitbourne RCMP received a report of a vehicle on fire off of the TCH, where a pickup truck and enclosed trailer were engulfed in flames underneath the overpass. The truck had been travelling eastbound before leaving the roadway.
After extinguishing the fire, firefighters found the bodies of three occupants inside the truck—a 27-year-old woman and two men ages 25 and 40.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been engaged and the investigation is ongoing.
