The Opposition is crying foul after the Privacy Commissioner ruled that government must release information on the Premier’s billings as a surgeon following an Access to Information request.
Opposition leader David Brazil says the fact that the initial response from government was not to release the information sought is part of what he sees as a “concerning pattern.”
Brazil says government needs to understand that the people of Newfoundland and Labrador are entitled to what he calls “the free flow of information” citing the failure to publicly release the Rothschild Report and the Citizen’s Representative report into alleged harassment at Elections NL as two recent examples.
