An 80 year old tradition returns to Mundy Pond this weekend.
Mundy Pond Regatta president Tony Dunn says the regatta originally ran from 1930-1949 and was revived in 2017 after it became one resident’s bucket list item.
Ted Doyle wanted to bring the Regatta back and in 2017 they managed to resurrect the event. Dunn says the revival was only supposed to be a one-time event, but it was so successful that a committee was formed to hold the event annually.
The races kick off Saturday at noon with games and activities for kids taking place in the parking lot of St. Theresa’s School.
