The RCMP have received some tips regarding a call received by 911 from a person in the Marystown area who claimed they were being chased, but they have yet to confirm the identity of the person and ensure their safety.
RCMP last night issued a clip of the 911 call from a person who said they were being chased before the line went silent.
Corporal Jolene Garland says the content of the call was concerning enough that they decided to issue a public advisory to ensure the person involved is okay.
The call was untraceable, and while police conducted patrols in Marystown and made numerous inquiries, they were unable to identify or locate the caller.
Anyone with information is asked to call Burin Peninsula RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
